Easter this year was probably the best one I've had in a long time. Not only did I focus on the true meaning by being grateful for Jesus and all he did for me, but we had fun with the Easter Bunny part of it as well. Shawn and I haven't done baskets for each other ever, but we both surprised each other with one this year. And last year we didn't do one for Leili (because she didn't know the difference) so pretty much this was our fist year celebrating Easter with the Easter Bunny.
We woke up pretty early in the morning and took Leili out to the living room to see what the Easter Bunny brought her, she was a little distracted by all the eggs laying around though so it took a lot of work to get her interested in her basket. Then as soon as she was it took the same amount of work to get her interested in finding the eggs again. I'd say her finding the eggs was the best part. She would wait till we pointed to one and then she would walk over to it and pick it up. (I was still pretty impressed that she even cared to pick them up and put them in her basket.) It took her a few minutes to realize that the eggs had things inside (marshmallows, gummy bears and chocolate eggs) but as soon as she did she started to open them all. We had to stop her and take the eggs away so that she would still have room for breakfast.

Shawn made pancakes for breakfast and it was delish! After that we had to hurry and get ready for church. Just like most sundays, after church Shawn and Leili took a nap while I did something quietly by myself. This time it was making delicious cupcakes for dessert. I made lemon cupcakes with lemon cream cheese frosting....hmmm hmmm good!
It was Harmon side Sunday so we went to my moms for dinner and after dinner we had an Easter egg hunt for the three granddaughters there (Kasiah, Leili and Kara). Kasiah was told to find only two certain colors and Shawn and Matt did a very good job of hiding hers well. Then the other colors were for Leili and Kara and those were just laying around the yard. As soon as we walked out there Leili took off. Glad we had a practice round in the morning. (The pictures imported out of order, i'm too lazy to fix that I guess :))

And she is off!

credit goes to my mom...she got Leili to smile!

After wanting a cupcake all afternoon, she took two bites.

Kara kept pulling Leili's basket over by her and then Leili would pull it back. This went back and forth about three times until Leili decided no more and moved the basket to her lap. These two will hopefully get a long better one day. |

Kara really only cared to find one or two :)

She can be stubborn but she sure is cute!
Hope you all had a great Easter too!
