Okay ready for a quick catch up?
Leili is no longer a baby. She is a toddler, a make a mess every where toddler. My house has gone from neat and clean to stuff everywhere. I try my best to keep it clean but man does it get exhausting cleaning up mess after mess after mess! I probably clean up the same mess three or four times a day. I can't wait for the day when she can understand me when I say, "clean up this mess first before you make a new one." She usually does a good job when I tell her to go put something away, but it doesn't always get to the right spot. Sometimes she will just put it out of my sight.
Even though I complain about cleaning up messes, I sure do love the way that each little mess is made. Leili loves to bring me things right now, whether its books or toys or my own personal items. She will go find something and bring it to me. Lately after she brings it to you she will give you a smirk and a little nod as she puts her chin to her chest shrug her shoulders and walks away. (I typed that up a couple of months ago and forgot she used to do that, so I'm leaving that in here.) It is probably the cutest thing you ever saw (my dad laughs when I say that because I say it all the time...but new things are always cuter than the old things). She also knows where trash goes but also knows she can pull things out of it as well. I have caught her a couple of times putting her fruit snack wrapper in the trash, only to pull it out and bring it to me a few hours later.
She is such a joy! She is 19 months old. I can't believe how time flies (i know the annoying sentence that every mother says), it turned into warp speed as soon as Leili was born. Enough about that, here are some fun little facts about our Leili-kins.
-She is a momma's girl.
-She loves when daddy comes home however.
-She is super shy when she gets around people but give her some time and she will open up a tiny bit ;).
-She has really started to thin out and is loosing all of her baby chunk..sniff sniff.
-She loves green beans! That is our go to vegetable for her.
-She climbs into her high chair when she is hungry.
-She likes to turn in circles while you sing Ring-a-round the Rosies, but will not fall down at the end.
-She is off the bottle and has been for months but still LOVES to have her binkie for bed and naps.
-She loves yogurt and knows that she gets one every night before she goes to bed.
-She usually sleeps through the night but if she doesn't and wakes up, there is no getting her to lay back down in her bed.
-She loves to be outside and play catch with Meeko. (I'm sure he will enjoy it more when she can throw farther than a foot.)
-Her favorite snack is fruit snacks and she knows exactly where they are in the pantry.
-She has started to pull funny faces and will try to mimic the ones you do.
-She is stubborn and wants to do what she wants to do.
-She still hates getting her diaper changed and hates getting her clothes changed.
-She still doesn't talk that much, but we are working on that. I taught her the sign language for shoes and when she does it, it sounds like she is trying to say it at the same time.
There are a ton more facts about her that I could list, but I would go on forever. Leili is such a joy. Like all kids she can test your patience and your limits but at the end of the day I still miss her when I put her in bed. She is my little buddy.
Shawn and I don't really have to much going on either. Shawn is still the assistant manager at the City Creek branch and I am still working 20 hours at the Taylorsville branch. We did buy a new car back in February, that was fun! I finally let go of Goldilocks after six years (and after we couldn't fix the phantom gas smell after taking it to the shop 4 times for it) and bought a 2004 Murano. I named her Black Pearl. It has nothing to do with Pirates of the Caribbean, but rather the first Murano I wanted to buy. It was a white one and I told Shawn (this was a year ago maybe) that if we bought it I would name her Pearl. So of course since I bought a Black on I thought it would be funny to name her Black Pearl.
Really other than that nothing too exciting has happened. Maybe soon I will have big news that Shawn either "A" got promoted to a manager or "B" got a new job. Then soon after that I will have even bigger news that I was able to quit working! FINGERS CROSSED!!!!
