Two Months

With Leili’s 3 month mark approaching quickly, I figured I should get this post finished up. The other day I asked Shawn if he remembered what it was like before we had Leili. “Yes, life was much simpler but definitely not better.” Well put Shawn, well put. Before Leili came along, we didn’t have to worry about an 8:30 bed time routine or a feeding schedule. We didn’t have to worry about having a diaper bag packed to last us a day or finding a babysitter to go on a date. We didn’t have to worry about money so much or going to work and missing firsts. Life was much simpler without a baby in our lives, but like Shawn said it wasn’t better than it is now.

So what went on with our little Leili between one month and two months old? Well, she had her first Halloween, her daddy gave her a beautiful blessing (more about that in another post), she started really cooing and smiling and she finally slept through the night for the first time (still not a normal thing). We also took the basinet out of our room so there isn’t an option for her to sleep in our room unless she sleeps in our bed (which I will admit happens more than it should).

At her 2 month appointment, she measured 12 lbs 12 oz and 22 ½ inches long. She was in the 90% for her weight and 50% for her height. I laughed about the height (because of mine and Shawn’s height) but my doctor said there really isn’t a way to get a completely accurate measurement for their height when they are this small because you can’t stand them against a wall. He told me she is a healthy baby and progressing just fine.
I’m a little nervous for when she should be rolling over though, because she hates and I do mean hates tummy time. She is perfectly content lying on the floor on her back but if you put her on her stomach within a few split seconds she will scream bloody murder. I know everyone says that tummy time didn’t happen in the olden days, so why force it now? Well, personally I think it helps. I don’t like doing it because I feel like it is torture for her, but I also don’t want her lagging behind (guess it’s a first time mom fear).
(Pictures will hopefully be added later, blogger is saying I need to buy more space. Anyone know how to get past that?)

  1. You can't get passed it I am afraid, but I am still boycotting the heck out of it. Hence, our blog has no pictures of Lydia on the main page.

  2. I haven't used blogger in a long time, but my first instinct would be to upload the pictures somewhere else and then "embed" them here (so it loads them from another site but displays them here).

Check out photobucket-- it sounds like there may be no limits to how many you can load there.
