The Peters Came to Town

Can I just say right now that I miss my sister and her cute family? It's so hard having nephews who live so far away from you that you don't get to see them grow up. They were driving to Reno, Nevada from Denver, Colorado and on their way through they stopped in Salt Lake to see us all. Even though it was only a couple of hours it was really good to see them.

Braxton is the one who grew noticeable amounts. He is now crawling, it is just an army crawl but still. I was holding him and he just feels like a solid 25 pounds. Most kids feel a little less then what they are, but he accounts for each and every pound.  He is also extremely squishy! I could squish him all day. Lyndsay was laughing at me because while I was holding Braxton, I couldn't help but to squish the crap out of his legs! Teehheee

Jayden hasn't grown a lot height wise but he has definitely matured even more. He is such a polite three year old, he says "no thanks you" and "please". When he use to live here and when they came for my wedding I would constantly say "Hi Jayden." He would always respond with "Hi Kali." I just loved to see how many times I could say it and he would say it back. So anyways we were sitting at the dinner table on Thursday night (the night they passed through town) and I said to Jayden, "Hi Jayden." He responded, "Hi Kali.......not a lot okay?" I started laughing so hard. It had been a little over four months since I saw him and he knew exactly what I was up to. A couple minutes went by and I once again said "Hi Jayden."

"Hi Kali.....just a little okay?"

So once again I waited a couple minutes and then said "Hi Jayden."

"Hi Kali....not a lot okay?"
"So just a little Jayden?"
"Yes, just not a lot."
"Like five times?"
"No two times."
"How about four times?"
"No two times."
"Three times?"
"No two times."
"Four times."
"No two times."
"Three times?"

He paused a second and then took a deep breath and said "Okay three times." It was just so funny! He didn't start raising his voice or even sound irritated. SUCH A FREAKIN' CUTE KID!

Later at night Lyndsay had Jayden go get in his pjs and get ready for bed. He went down stairs and came back up saying, "I have just come up stairs to tell everyone good night." He walked over to give me a hug and I picked him up and said "Good night Jayden." He said good night back and then I said, "I love you Jayden." His response was, "I love you too Kali" paused and then said "not a lot okay?" We all started laughing our butts off! What can I say, kids say the darnest things.

Boy will I miss those boys even more now that I have gotten a taste of their silliness and their cuteness. Of course I will miss my sister too :).
