Shawn and I are trying our best to make our home a beautiful place to be, well mainly the yard. We work in the yard every Saturday we have off together. We are also out there by ourselves when we don't have Saturdays off. I do a lot of weeding and Shawn does the mowing. It seems like it is an endless thing and I know for a fact it is. However, we have decided that weeding has to be stopped.
So this past Saturday we started our latest project, black netting and mulch. We got the side of the garage done on Saturday and it looks gorgeous! I really wanted to get the whole front yard done but we didn't make it that far. In all fairness we were in the yard from eight in the morning to two in the afternoon. We were hot, exhausted, and sore. I also hurt my hand pretty bad. I was pulling out a weed that we had missed and when it finally gave way (it was a stubborn weed) my hand slammed so hard into a rose bush that it penetrated a thorn deep into the back of my hand by my middle knuckle. For the next couple of days I couldn't stretch my hand out straight or make a fist with it. It was pretty bruised and sore.
We still have the whole front yard to do, but here is a picture of our work last Saturday. I'm hoping to have the rest of it done by this Wednesday the 4th of July.
Also last Saturday night we went to West Fest (I go every year to see the fireworks) with Noelle and Ryan. We had fun hanging out with them for the night. Here are a couple of pictures I took.

| The finally and then the fire that started in the field. |
Until next time...
