Who needs a kid???

On this beautiful May afternoon I came home from a baby shower to this...

That's right, Meeko decided that while I was away for a couple hours, he would teach me a lesson by chewing my shoe. This pair happens to be the one pair of black shoes that I wear to work, to church, and just in general when I am wearing black.  I am use to coming home and having the couch licked to death or the tissue paper in the bathroom garbage can torn to pieces, but Meeko hasn't hurt one of my shoes since I lived at my other apartment years ago. Granted he will move them from the entry way to the carpet from time to time but tearing them up hasn't been his thing in awhile.

So you can imagine that I was pretty mad. He knew he was in trouble. All I had to do was point at the shoe and he immediately starts cowering (it seems like I abuse the poor guy). He sits there with his ears pulled back and his head tilted up so that he has to look down his nose at you. (It is the cutest thing and usually gets him out of a harsher punishment then just making him feel guilty.) So I tapped him on his butt and told him bad boy. I told him to come with me and he followed behind in a cowardly way. I pointed to the bathroom rug and told him to come sit. To my surprise he actually did it. I then proceeded to say, "Stay Meeko, you are in time out for being a bad boy."

He actually stayed. I walked into the bedroom and made the bed, took some dishes into the kitchen, and then went and got my camera. Because lets face it, this dog is so FREAKIN' cute when he is in trouble. Don't you think so?

Also he is a little chunky so that just adds to the cuteness!
So ladies and gents, can you see why I don't need a child who gets into mischief when I'm not there? Who makes it so hard to punish them for what they did because they are just too cute? And who in the end when you say okay you can come out, climbs into your lap and cuddles up with you? That's right, because I already have a kid who does all of that. He just happens to be my dog :).  (Don't worry though, I know he doesn't fulfill every aspect of a child. So when Shawn and I are ready we will have a "human being child")

  1. This is just awesome. Well, the part about Meeko staying in time out, not the shoe getting eaten, haha :)

  2. Yeah it was pretty funny that he actually stayed. He usually doesn't so he must have known that I was pissed. Cute pup though
